Elderly Academy

Sik Sik Yuen Elderly Academy was established in 2006. It has been providing a wide range of interesting and practical courses to the elderly, which links learning with the application to their daily life. To cope with future development, Sik Sik Yuen Elderly Academy was renamed as Sik Sik Yuen Community Academy in 2015. For promoting the concept of “life-long learning” and “productive ageing”, the Academy aims at helping the elderly keep up with the development of changing society. It is hoped that they can apply what they have learnt to improve their quality of life and the relationship with their family. Also, we target to promote the community education to volunteers and residents living in the service district.

To cope with the needs of the community, the Academy has 12 faculties including Language and Literature, Sports and Physical Education, Culture and Arts, Information Technology, Art of Living, Educational Psychology, Healthcare, General Education, Environmental Protection Study, Ecotourism Study, Physical and Psychological Care and First Aid Training, with more than 1,100 courses and 2,500 students. To acknowledge the efforts of students, graduation ceremony and exchange program are organized for sharing the academic achievement.
